One of Michael Graves’ most celebrated designs for Swid Powell, the Little Dripper was created in 1986 in response to the architect’s preference for drip coffee—and his search for a coffee maker worthy of his exacting aesthetic. Crafted in high-gloss white porcelain with gleaming gold details and distinctive brick-red bases, the 10-cup design is a playful expression of Graves’ unmistakable Postmodernist style.

Examples can be found in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, RISD Museum and Yale University Art Gallery. Presented in excellent condition with no visible signs of wear, each piece is signed on the underside with Graves’ signature and the design’s title. The set includes a coffee pot, creamer, sugar bowl and filter holder.

Founded by Nan Swid and Addie Powell in 1982, Swid Powell collaborated with some of the decade’s most influential architects—including Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Richard Meier and Robert Venturi—to transform visionary ideas into beautifully functional objects.
