Each element in an AnaKatarina piece is chosen with care — born of the earth, handled with respect, and transformed through passion, vision, and love. Every gemstone, every grain of gold carries intention; every piece tells a story.
AnaKatarina has championed sustainable sourcing since 1999, when she acquired her first Canadian-mined diamonds. A former war correspondent, she approaches each material with the same investigative rigor, ensuring transparency, ethical practices, and respect for the communities involved. By 2007, she had begun sourcing recycled gold and fair-trade gemstones — a practice she continues today, guided by vertical transparency and a commitment to integrity.
Her materials reflect this ethos: 18K recycled gold, conflict-free diamonds, ethically sourced gemstones, and responsibly obtained fossils. AnaKatarina is proud to support and engage with Ethical Metalsmiths, AGTA, WJA, and Women for Women International, ensuring that each piece is not only beautiful but meaningful.
Diamonds
For over two decades, AnaKatarina has sought diamonds that honor both planet and people. Each stone is either reclaimed from vintage jewelry or sourced from ethical vendors committed to environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Diamonds are chosen for their sparkle and their story — a lasting symbol of care, beauty, and integrity.
Gemstones
Every gemstone is selected from ethical vendors whose mining, cutting, and business practices prioritize human dignity and environmental stewardship. Many of these partners are innovators in responsible sourcing, and all are vetted through Ethical Metalsmiths when possible. The result is a collection of stones that inspire, empower, and connect the wearer to the natural world.
Recycled Gold
All AnaKatarina designs are cast in 18K recycled gold — identical in quality, infinitely more responsible. Traditional gold mining can devastate ecosystems and local communities. By using recycled gold, every piece carries the story of transformation, preservation, and respect for the earth and its people.
Cameos
Our hand-carved cameos are made from sustainably sourced Brazilian agate and crafted in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, by a 4th-generation carver — a talented artisan who is also a dedicated single mother. Each cameo reflects centuries of skill and tradition, combined with AnaKatarina’s signature design vision.
