Italian designer and graphic artist Giulio Confalonieri (1926–2008) brought a bold visual intelligence to everything he created. After studying economics at Milan’s Bocconi University, he turned his attention to design, quickly establishing a distinctive career working with leading industrial clients.

In the mid-1950s, Confalonieri began collaborating with Ilio Negri, and in 1963 co-founded the influential CNPT studio alongside Negri, Michele Provinciali and Pino Tovaglia. He also served as an art director and contributed to prestigious publications including FMR, Domus and Imago.

His innovative approach earned him gold medals at the 11th and 15th Milan Triennales, as well as a Typomundus Diploma of Honor in New York. Today, his work is represented in museum collections worldwide, while his powerful graphic language continues to influence contemporary visual culture.

Founded by Giovanni Alessi in Omegna, Italy, in 1921, Alessi has built its legacy on transforming everyday essentials into enduring design icons. Created in collaboration with celebrated architects and industrial designers, its functional yet sculptural objects feel equally at home on a kitchen counter or gallery pedestal. Many are now held in prestigious museum collections around the world.
